Aruban Kitchen Christmas Special Supper Club 2011

A big thank you to all who came to our Aruban Christmas Special last night!

We had ball!

There was a great mix of people, great food, a hell of alot of laughs, mystery and intrigue!

Mom, (aka Monica) cooked up a fantastic selection of Aruban style dishes mixed in with her own Caribbean culinary creations.

The starter, Balci di Pisca (Salt Cod Balls) were amazing and were served with fresh homemade bread. We teamed this with a specially made Tamarind sauce – it was a different version to the one we sell online and it tasted fantastic with the fish balls!

The Spicy Slow Roast Leg of Mutton just fell off the bone and was served with a tasty gravy, steamed vegetables and roasted sweet potato and plantains.

I must say, mom does make a good cake or two – so the Bolo Boracho (Tipsy Rum Cake) did not disappoint! It was lovely and moist with  a sweet taste of Rum and with the addition of vanilla cream, it really was “to die for!”

After all that, everyone still had room to fit in a mince pie and coffee! (Well done everyone!) I’m sure a few belts were loosened at the end of the night!

We have had a fantastic 6 months putting on our supper club nights. We’ve met some amazing people who have really made each evening very special, humorous and memorable.

Thanks to mom, for all of her hard work in the kitchen!

We look forward to our 2012 Supper Club dates – Click HERE for  more info and have a look at some picture from last night below.

See you in 2012, have a great Christmas and New Year!
